Agriculture Minister Tomar allays farmers’ fears, assures purchases at minimum support price

The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 were passed on Sunday after getting the nod from the Lok Sabha earlier in the week amid protests from Opposition. The bills will replace ordinances promulgated in June.
