Lockdown, covid surge may dampen demand, fear tea growers and traders

“As of now, things are normal, but the way the Covid cases are going up in northern and western parts of the country every day, we are worried,” Azam Monem, director of McLeod Russel India, told ET. “Lockdowns and stricter restrictions have been put in place by many of the states. If the number surges and if there is longer duration of lockdowns, the movement of tea will slow down.
