Assam tea workers want new chief minister to speed up Covid testing, vaccination

There are around 10 lakh workers engaged in Assam’s gardens that produce 700-750 million kilograms of black tea annually. The producers are worried that if Covid spreads rapidly, as is being seen elsewhere in the country, then things may go out of control.
