Govt raises onion buffer to 5 lk MT; NCCF to retail onions at Rs 25/kg

India has raised the quantum of onion buffer to five lakh metric tonne after achieving the initial procurement target of three lakh metric tonne. The National Cooperative Consumers' Federation and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India will procure around one lakh metric tonne of onions to achieve additional procurement targets.
