Onion auctions to resume at APMCs in Nashik from August 24: Traders' representative

Onion auctions at all Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) in Nashik district, Maharashtra, will resume after a three-day closure due to protests against a 40% export duty on onions. Traders and farmers' representatives met with Union minister Dr Bharati Pawar, who assured them that their concerns would be considered. The government has restarted procurement at Rs 2,410 per quintal and plans to purchase an additional 2 lakh tonnes of onions from farmers.
