Onion auctions resume at APMCs in Nashik after traders call off strike

Onion auctions in Nashik, Maharashtra, which were suspended for 13 days due to protests against increased export duty, have resumed. At Asia's largest wholesale onion market, Lasalgaon APMC, 545 vehicles arrived on Tuesday morning. The opening session saw onion prices range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,541 per quintal. Traders called off the strike after a meeting with the district Guardian Minister, with the condition that a committee would be formed to address their demands within a month.
