India's cotton production has dipped to 15-year low, estimates trade body

India's cotton production for 2023-24 has hit a 15-year low, reaching 294.10 lakh bales, a decline of 8% from the previous year, according to trade body Cotton Association of India. Atul Ganatra, president of the trade body, attributed this drop to outdated BT cotton seeds, unpredictable weather, and pest-related issues.
