ISMA demands increase in price of ethanol made from B & C heavy molasses

The Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) urges government action following the ban on using sugarcane juice for ethanol production. To offset mill losses and support farmers affected by the ban, ISMA proposes compensatory price increases for ethanol from B and C heavy molasses. This measure aims to ensure cash flow for mills to meet financial commitments to farmers. Additionally, ISMA suggests converting contracted/cancelled juice to B-heavy molasses for ethanol, minimizing disruption to the ethanol blending program and lessening the impact on sugar production.
